Event to highlight connection between voter suppression, environmental destruction

ROCKY MOUNT, NORTH CAROLINA – A coalition of voting rights and environmental organizations are launching a redistricting teach-in tour in eastern North Carolina this weekend. The tour will highlight the connection between environmental destruction, the outsized influence of the fossil fuel industry, and voter suppression.

The tour will also provide an opportunity for citizens to learn how redistricting reform can transform our democratic process so that it works for everyone. The tour will start in Rocky Mount on February 16 and then make a stop in Roanoke Rapids on the 17.
