Lisa Gonzalez is a Senior Food and Climate Policy Analyst at Friends of the Earth, where she works to support climate-friendly federal food procurement initiatives. For most of her career, Lisa worked with the Cooperative Extension service, focusing on agriculture, regional food systems, and food policy work. Recently, she worked closely with the House Agriculture Committee and the Regenerate America coalition on the “Soil Health Practices and Programs that Support Regenerative Agriculture” Farm Bill hearing in Washington, D.C. She holds degrees in Environmental Studies and Nutrition & Integrative Health and is currently working on a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Western Carolina University. Lisa splits her time between her cabin in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina and her family home in Baltimore, Maryland. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, travelling, and exploring the natural world.
