Ashley Schaeffer Yildiz

Ashley Schaeffer Yildiz is a Senior International Agriculture & Climate Finance Campaigner. She works to defund industrial animal agriculture, pushing public development banks like the World Bank to stop bankrolling factory farming. Collaborating with Stop Financing Factory Farming and communities in the global south, she campaigns to shift public development finance from agribusiness towards diversified, small-scale food systems. In 18 years at the intersection of human rights, climate and agriculture, Ashley played lead roles at Rainforest Action Network, Greenpeace, Amazon Watch, and One Meal a Day for the Planet, stopping PepsiCo, Cargill and General Mills from destroying Indonesian rainforests and abusing workers for Conflict Palm Oil, and led non-violent direct actions and grassroots organizing programs. From Ukiah, California, she holds Environmental Studies and Politics degrees from Whitman College. She enjoys her three beautiful children and two fur babies, swimming, yoga and plant-based cooking.
